Catching up!!

It appears that almost five years have gone by since this blog has been updated.  I saved the draft I was working on, but never finished.  Therefore, this post might be pretty lengthy.  I hope you have some time!

NOVEMBER 2015:  We let the kids help pick their own colors.  Carlee wanted pink, purple, and teal.  Carter wanted a Marathon Red Raiders room.  I thought with all the colors picked, Carlee's would definitely be more time consuming.  However, Carter's walls have proven to take the cake with 5 coats of red.  Original hardwood floors were kept; just needed sanded and refinished.

Carter helping out as well..
Carlee got her shot at painting too.

Sanding

Applying polyurethane

The master bedroom was painted as well.  Sanded and refinished too.

FEBRUARY 2016:  Added the pantry barn door.

Also added another barn door for the office.  The one large door was created by gluing and doweling two smaller doors together.  Doors provided by Modern Builders in Wausau.

APRIL 2016:  Made the tough decision to take down two very old pine trees before they landed on our home.  (Also cleaned up the yard from all those pine needles I endlessly raked every spring.  Looking back, I can't believe I picked up all of those pine cones every stinkin' year like I did.  Yard cart fulls!!)

Dan Sauter helped us out with cutting the trees down.
Dan's cuts were right on the money.....they didn't hit the house!

FEBRUARY 2017: To complete the bedrooms, we (meaning Jay) installed our doors.

Kids closet doors.

By the looks of it, he was explaining to Carlee that her door locks.  :)

Jason Cooper finished up the trim work on the doors and base trim.

Trim work all done.

This pocket door has been here since 2012, but it finally has the trim work on it deserves.

NOVEMBER 2017: We replaced a couple of windows.  One in the kitchen that always frosts up in the winter, and the other in the back entry way.

DECEMBER 2017: Robert Ross Construction crew starting another project.  Here they are in the shop putting a ceiling in.

FEBRUARY 2019:  One of the last things to do upstairs was to tile and finish the master shower.  Thanks to Matt with Robert Ross Construction, this completes our master suite.

MARCH 2019:  The next set of pictures are items Martin Woodcraft out of Athens custom made for us. This is our bathroom vanity they made for our master bathroom.  They also made a beautiful bedroom set which will follow the vanity pictures.  We LOVE it!

We ordered our sink from another local company out of Thorp, called Leslie Marble.

The vanity was custom made to match our bedroom set style.
Extremely happy with Martin Woodcraft!

Unfortunately in March 2019, it snowed so much that our shed roof collapsed.

Just the lean to left here.

All gone.....

AUGUST 2019:  Time to remove the front porch.

Plywood to protect our front door during porch removal.

Kids....don't go that way!

END OF AUGUST/BEGINNING OF SEPTEMBER 2019:

In order to keep water from coming into our basement, we made the decision to install drain tile around the perimeter of the foundation.

Which brings us to 2020.  The corona virus hasn't slowed us down any!
Stay tuned..... it's in progress!
