Just a little bit behind, aren't I? We're closing in on the first phase being complete. The later part of 2012, we added some fixtures in the downstairs bathroom and added another arch between the two rooms on the south side of the house. Recently, we had some more electric work completed. See pictures below.

Downstairs bathroom just about finished.
(Although this picture doesn't show it, the outlets and switches to the left are also completed.) |

The next few pictures show how handy Jay can be. Tell him I want an arch, and voila.....he's working on it! (Wish it would work that way all the time!)

Moistening the drywall for the arch. |

Preparing the drywall for installation using his head....lol |

Almost finished....just need to trim it out. |

Installing the wall sconces upstairs
Scooby is supervising. :-) |

One of 5 wall sconces located in upstairs hallway. Aren't they pretty? |

There are now two outside lights in the front entry. |
A little at a time, but that's okay. In the end, it doesn't matter how long it took because it'll look exactly how we want it. "Good things come to those who wait."
Until next time,
The awesome amount of work you've done on giving this house a rebirth of sorts is nothing short of amazing. I only wish that my great-grandparents, Robert & Ottillie Ringle could see the transformation of their former home, as well as all of their children. As one of Robert & Ottillie desendants, I want to thank you for all of your hard work!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tim! I'm not sure how I missed this comment, but I'm just now seeing it. I apologize for that. I'm behind in posting. Back in January, we added some base trim as well as window trim. We also ordered a couple doors at the same time, but those are still waiting to install. The husband is still searching for the perfect barn-door tracks. Bringing a little "barn" feeling inside. Today, we actually ordered four new windows for the upstairs east-side bedrooms. Therefore, it won't be long and those rooms will be torn apart. The 10-year plan is coming along nicely. Thank you for the kind words. Jay has put a lot of time and energy into this place. He's very passionate about it. It's nice to see that others can appreciate it as much as we do. Check back in a couple months or so. Hopefully we'll have more to show.
